As Product Owner – Avionics & Instruments, you are responsible for the strategic development of avionics capabilities within a complex technical environment. You combine technology, commercial insight and innovation to create new opportunities and continuously improve existing capabilities.
The role of Product Owner – Avionics & Instruments is crucial to the Component Maintenance activities within Fokker Services. In this position, you are responsible for defining the strategic roadmap and identifying new capabilities, technologies and repair procedures for the Avionics & Instruments department, as well as optimizing the existing capabilities portfolio.
You work together with an experienced team of fellow Product Owners, supported by a large group of Product Engineers. Ultimately, you are responsible for planning and executing the avionics technology roadmap and providing direction to the Engineering team. In addition, you work closely with the Sales and Procurement departments to support both sales campaigns and cost-saving initiatives.
The Product Owner – Avionics & Instruments reports to the Head of Programs – Component Services and works closely with other Product Owners and the Avionics Component Repair Shop Manager to achieve shared objectives.
Responsible for defining the development agenda for new avionics capabilities and repair technologies;
Responsible for the continuous improvement of the existing capabilities portfolio according to lean principles;
Identifying or supporting sales campaigns in collaboration with the Sales department to increase volume and revenue;
Initiating cost-saving measures together with Procurement to strengthen competitiveness;
Performing technical data analyses on the existing avionics portfolio and establishing measurement methods for improved product-level business intelligence;
Responsible for maintaining the existing capabilities portfolio from a commercial perspective.
Demonstrable entrepreneurial mindset and experience in creating sales opportunities;
Ability to clearly communicate product strategy and technical principles to supporting departments;
Demonstrable knowledge of electrical components and avionics systems;
Ability to identify improvements and apply continuous improvement according to lean principles;
Commercial insight and understanding of operational excellence;
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, can-do mentality;
Excellent analytical and data analysis skills;
Excellent proficiency in relevant software such as MS Excel, Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Access.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent, in an electrical or technical field;
Experience in program management or a relevant qualification in this field.
